Esquivel "can't" be more candid, forthright and honest or, he "won't"

If the Journal, link, can be believed, when School Board Member Marty Esquivel left the in secret meeting last night, he told (the Journal)

“I can’t talk."
Cannot means unable to do otherwise.
It is not the same thing as unwilling to do otherwise.

It is fair to hold Esquivel,
a famous lawyer,
accountable for his choice of words.

There is nothing that keeps him or any other school board member from being as candid, forthright and honest as the law will allow, except his and their, individual and collective lack of character and courage.

When asked why they will not hold themselves honestly accountable as the district's senior-most role models of honest accountability to the Pillars of Character Counts, they do not answer because they are unwilling to answer the question, not because they are unable.

When asked why there is no due process for complaints filed against administrators and school board members,  they do not answer the question because they are unwilling, not because they are unable.

When asked why the district will not produce ethically redacted findings of investigations into felony criminal misconduct involving senior APS administrators, they do not answer the question because they are unwilling, not because they are unable.

When asked why the district will not undergo an independent examination and review of APS administrative and executive standards of conduct and competence,  they do not answer the question because they are unwilling, not because they are unable.

When asked why they are unwilling to talk openly and honestly about student discipline and chronically disruptive students, they do not answer the question because they are unwilling, not because they are unable.

If you ask them why they have not posted on their award winning website, the findings of even one of the many investigations that reflect their (lack of) administrative and executive standards and accountability, they will not answer the question because they are unwilling, not because they are unable.

If you ask why they are spending twenty teacher salaries in litigation in defense of Marty Esquivel's ego,  they will not answer the question because they are unwilling, not because they are unable.
