What did Elsy Fierro do wrong?

I read with interest the many comments on blogs and forums; mostly against Fierro.

Many commenters regard these shenanigans as Elsy Fierro's efforts to get away with something.

I don't know Elsy Fierro, and I don't know anymore about Gradegate than anyone else reading the newspapers and listening to the news.

I can't help but think that
the only person who wants an open public hearing,
the only person who wants the truth to come out;

must not have as much to hide
as everyone else.

Which indicates to me that she really is the scapegoat
for a decision that was made by more senior members
of the leadership of the APS; who are still needing
the cover provided by Veronica Garcia and the media.

A casual search of media headlines reveals that
all the news people are pushing Garcia's version;
"There is no case without the student records."

Even though these "crucial" records were unnecessary
up to now, and their absence up to now, did not
prevent Garcia et al, from formally, and publicly,
charging Fierro with ethical misconduct so gross
as to warrant loosing her license.

Seems reckless and incompetent to me.

In my book, Veronica Garcia and the senior leadership of the
APS look far guiltier than Elsy Fierro; and I for one
would have been interested in hearing Fierro's version of the truth.

Fierro, through her steadfast insistence on airing
the truth, has earned the benefit of the doubt.

Everitt, Maes, and Garcia on the other hand,
seem to be the beneficiaries of no doubt at all;

and their misconduct should have been revealed
in a public hearing.

First the grade gate situation which caused teachers and principals to lose trust in the the APS system. The best thing that could happen was the retirement of Beth the invisible leader and the Nelinda Venegas. However, Elsy the nonleader is still in place ordering principals around and pretending that she knows what she is doing when she has never been a principal or assistant principal. The parents and community don't trust her. Principals and teachers don't respect nor have faith in her especially in her own cluster!! Yet she is still in place. It pays to have friends in high places even if you don't have the skills or ability for the job in APS.
Now she has is free in clear and wants to sue the state for big money and cry "victim" Go else where for empathy. No one believes you so go farrrrrrrrrrrrrr away. Leave in shame.

Elsy Fierro did nothing wrong. And contrary to what the previous commentor has posted the vast majority of the principals and teachers in her cluster hold her in high regard and know her skill and judgement to be sound. She has no so-called friends in high places. There were no politcal favors granted. The state bungled their investigation. They did not do a thorough investigation in the beginning and when they went back and did so they found that she did nothing wrong. But by that time the damage had been done and Dr. Garcia was not about to admit any wrong doing by herself or her staff. Garcia made it political. Why do you think they dropped the charges? They conveniently claimed that access to the student's records was crucial to their case knowing full well that the courts would never allow the release of that private information. This allowed Dr. Garcia to "save face" and act as though she did everything in her power to do her job. Baloney. Elsy Fierro will not hang her head in shame because she did her job to the best of her abilities. The high school principal and staff, NMPED, and Secretary Garcia and her staff should hang their collective heads in shame for the damage they are doing to Elsy Fierro
