in the journal this morning, there was a article about a road rage incident that had been reported to police.
the incident involved a citizen and an aps employee who was then working under gil lovato.
it was a, he said-she said incident, according to the article;
with apparently no way of ever knowing the truth.
except that he called for real police, and she called for gil lovato.
case closed.

I find this to be HILARIOUS. I was hired as a dispather by D. Harrell in 1986; I was Cindy West's replacement when she went on Maternity leave. I stayed on, and eventually went to the Sheriff's Academy, and became a card carrying special deputy charged with enforcing school laws. I got promoted to sergeant. DURING THIS WHOLE TIME - I, and all other APS officers were FORBIDDEN to act or take reports on non-school related incidents.
A road rage incident on city property, no matter who yelled or said what, I don't blame Cindy for trying to defend herself if that guy attacked her, (I don't know I wasn't there) SEEMS LIKE CITY POLICE BUSINESS.
Especially when the Sheriff only provides the commissions as long as APS keeps the investigations to School related matters; he could pull the commissions at his whim, especially since there is no law allowing any NM school district to create its own police force. Only colleges, that I know of) (IE - they respond to charter schools, etc. on private property if it is school related, in Jefferson County they called it a "nexus to school activity".)
SO, "FUNNY" that he usurps a city police investigation, I mean ironic and contrary to his every direction to his subordinates "funny".
