Steve Tellez; gunfighter

APS Police Chief Steve Tellez walked into his deposition yesterday with a big iron on his hip.  The semi-automatic pistol is almost comically large for a man of his stature.  He told us later, it was a Kimber 45, link.  His gun is far bigger than the weapons he issues to even the most qualified and experienced gunfighters under his command.

Kimber tactical weapons are a favorite of professional gunfighters and wannabe gunfighters alike.

He wears on his belt what appear to be two high capacity magazines.  If he carries in them, what is commonly known as police positive ammunition, the gun is easily powerful enough to blow a student's head off.

Since APS is fond of lining children up in rows, an errant round from Tellez' hand cannon could potentially kill or maim a number of students with a single shot.

What is not so obvious is whether Tellez can shoot his big gun safely and effectively.  Has he qualified with such a big gun?  Can he hit the broad side of a barn?

Steve Tellez, shootist or menace?

I would ask to see the public records of his firearms qualification, but I can't.

A search of APS award winning website for his firearms qualification results produced zero hits.

Well the so called Chief doesn't do any work around the kids because he is always hiding in his office at City Center. He also qualifies with one of his minions away from his officers usually at Calibers or the West Side range when nobody else is present.

The students are safe because he rarely leaves his office at City Center with his "Big Gun"! He passes his qualification shoots with the help of his minions who either take him to Calibers or to the West Side rang to qualify away from any of his officers eyes! Sheriff Dan Houston has no clue about the games that Tellez and his staff play with them and his commission given to the APS "Police Dept"!

As a matter of fact the Deputy Chief Steven Gallegos to Sherriff Dan Houston that he didn't want to carry a gun because he was a Deputy Chief and told Mr. Houston that he did not think he should have to qualify.

The Deputy Chief at APS Police Steven Gallegos recently to Sherriff Dan Houston that he didn't even want to have to shoot the qualification course because he didn't even want to carry his handgun because he is a Deputy Chief.

He also has a problem with a large percentage of his officers failing to qualify on the mandatory handgun qualifications and they have to re shoot the course over and over until they pass or the numbers are fudged with until they have a score above 80%.

Recently he had a long time Officer that failed to qual. numerous times and he was subsequently moved to be a Campus Security Aide (CSA)at another school and is no longer an APS Police Officer.

the size of a man's gun is inversely proportionate to the size of his manhood
That's common knowledge.
