Truth about Tellez investigation hard to come by

With respect to the criminal investigation into the corruption and incompetence in leadership of the APS and their Police force, there are two stories here;

  1. what's going on, and
  2. why don't we know what's going on?
If you want to know what's happening, it doesn't look like the Public Information Officers involved are going to be of much use.
  • APS PIO Monica Armenta,
  • Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department PIO Sgt Aaron Williamson, and now most likely,
  • District Attorney's Office PIO Kayla Anderson
It isn't their job, obviously, to fully inform interest holders.
It isn't their job to tell the people everything that the law will allow them to tell. Their job is to tell the people what they are told to tell them.

The PIOs work for the people, but not under them.  They are not accountable to the people; they don't do what the people want them to do.  Instead, they answer to politicians and public servants
who will use their PIOs to under, mis and dis-inform interest and stake holders in order that everybody; the pols, the public servants and the public information officers, all keep their jobs.

So who is going to hold school boards and superintendents, county sheriffs and district attorneys accountable for their (lack of) candor, forthrightness and honesty with the people they serve?

Under ideal conditions, that would be "the press".

Except that in this town, the press is divided in two;
  1. those with government "credentials" and
  2. those without.
and those with government credentials are not about to bite the hand that grants them access.

At the level of the owners, editors and new directors, the press here in River City is corrupt.

Case in point; they are part and parcel of the cover up of a standards and accountability scandal in the leadership of the APS.
Clearly the truth about the leadership of APS and its publicly funded private police force looks bad.  Why else are they hiding it?  It looks bad in direct proportion to the effort they are spending to keep it hidden. Why else are they hiding the findings of every investigation ever done on every scandal they've ever had?

Where are the ethically redacted findings of investigations of the 2006 corruption in leadership of the APS Police force?  Where are the ethically redacted findings of the investigation they just conducted?  Hidden is where they are.

Hidden because law allows them to hide them.

The question is not how can the leadership of the APS use loopholes, technicalities and legal weaselry to hide the truth, but rather, why are they using them to hide the truth?

The question that the government credentialed press;
the Journal, KRQE, KOAT, and KOB TV need to ask the school board and superintendent is;
Why are they hiding the Caswell reports, why are they hiding truth about the public interests and about their public service?
The question you need to ask yourself is;
why won't the establishment's press ask why?
... except that at the level of editors and news directors,
the press is part of the cover up of a cover up of felony
criminal misconduct involving senior APS administrators,
and a full blown standards and accountability scandal in
the leadership of the APS.
