APS claims 89% of parents approve

APS claims, link, a survey they did last September, showed 89% of parents approve of the quality of APS education.

According to their own statistics; 33% of parents have children who drop out.

It would appear a substantial number of parents approve of their children dropping out.

They also report 67% of parents approve of Supt Winston Brooks;
the lowest approval rating assigned in the report.

Had teachers been asked, the numbers would have been different.
Ergo, they will not be asked. Nor will anyone else working beside or beneath him

The poll stated in big RED letters 89% of parents approve of APS. At the bottom of the poll in small black letters: 417 registered voters (parents?) participated in the poll.

The following from the teacher's voice caught my eye. Seems to how at the last board meeting, about an hour in, Kathy Chavez, president of the EA Union, gave a heartfelt speech about what she hears from EA's (and teachers). She talked about the admin team doing their job and taking care of toxic administrations. The interesting part of all this is, Esquivel, who was on the phone, couldn't even come in person, ripped her a new one, after she had left at the end of the meeting. So far, unions, if you're listening at all,Esquivel has disrespected the two leaders of both the teacher's and EA's union. If either one of them indorses this pathetic politician again, I have no sympathy.

Chronic Climate Issues
We are working intensely and closely with two staffs
(and are in frequent contact with several others) that
are very afraid of, and frustrated and concerned with,
the leadership of their schools. Issues are related to
disrespectful treatment, bullying, indifference, favoritism
and overall lack of ability. The poor leadership has
created chronic and toxic climate issues at the schools.
Unfortunately, we have concerns with many of the
district’s principals. Organizing around chronic climate
issues is different than addressing individual concerns
and contract violations. If your school is suffering from
chronic climate issues and your staff is ready to organize,
call the office so that we can meet with interested
staff and inform you how we can help.
