Modrall might get to litigate in the public interest, for a change.

The student whose actions prompted the lock down at La Cueva High School is suing APS for

  • being falsely accused of acts which culminated in the lock down
  • false arrest,
  • assault and battery on his person,
  • defamation of his character, and
  • violation of his civil rights.

Sam Bregman must be tied up with all of his other lawsuits against APS, because according to the Journal, some other lawyer will be getting his 40% of this settlement.

A district court judge has already ruled that the admin screwed up their response so badly, that it would be unfair to punish the student.

Modrall
will bill a bunch of hours;
then settle.

The kid will make some money,
Paula Maes Modrall will make some more money,

and taxpayers get the shaft

... again.
