Journal mum on Brooks' Dixon Award

APS Supt Winston Brooks' Dixon Award was celebrated at the board meeting last night.

It was not reported in today's Journal coverage of the school board meeting.

Perhaps Journal Editor Kent Walz would not like attention drawn to the effort that he and School Board President Marty Esquivel went to, to engineer the "champion of transparency" award to a man, Brooks, who is hiding the truth about;

-the cover up of corruption in the APS Police Department,

-the denial of due process to more than 300 whistle blower complaints, and

-his own abdication as the senior most administrative role model of the APS Student Standards of Conduct;

three newsworthy stories that Walz steadfastly refuses to investigate and report upon.
