This is a re-posting of a piece I did in August 2007.
The terms of public service are the prerogative of the public. Fundamental among those terms; public servants are accountable to the public, and to meaningful standards of conduct and competence, at least for the eight measly hours a day that we have to "trust" them with the control over our power and our resources.
hahaha! Touche'! And so great that one can laugh at oneself and what others call us.

Ask the new superintendent why he is allowing the Bernalillo/City of Albuquerque cooperative of Community schools to "leverage" Title I funds for after school programs and services that should be funded by the county and the city. My dear, dear, irritating friend.... Title I funds are to be used mostly during the instructional day to provide literacy and math instructional/intervention support for the most at need STUDENTS, not for any after school programs that are supervised by undergraduates performing work study duties or for outside agencies, that should be funded by the likes of Catholic Charities or United
ReplyDeleteWay, to teach adult ESL/GED classes. This, my friend, is where you should land, not elsewhere.
...and sir, to that end of the information I gave you about the community schools initiative, I will give you more if you post that information.... I have much much more, because I am an inside gadfly... let's shake this up, shall we?
